About reservist:
I haven't used this feature because, even with war weariness, they can defend perfectly. Except, 2 or 3 units, all units acquired the range of legendary more fast than high war weariness. Normally, a legendary unit have promotion 2 o 3, not the 4 o 5. And, if I have a legendary unit, I dont need settled. I can "clean" it creating the general. So, I will have a unit without weariness, and maintining their promotions. Ready to fight again.
I have 7 generals with the "normal" method. Creating with legendary units, I have all my cities with a general and an academy. About 40 generals. Too much. And I can create more, but I don't want.
Logically, a general must never be attached. If we do that, we can't clean the war weariness. I have a lot of heros, and 0 generals.
Defending is more easy, it's clear. I think, an unit with war weariness, in a offensive war, would be hard to use, some cases, useless. Anyway, we can move that unit to the defense.
In other words, you must force us to settle. Possibilities I think:
1) High war weariness acquired more fast than elite o legendary status: the unit will be useless early, and only with patience and luck, acquire the legendary status.
2) War weariness with more penalty: to force the units less promotioned, they are useless without promotions, and they won't can gain more.
3) Put the odd to change as barb: Each battle won, it's a risk for a desertion (obviusly, generals not included). We can try to get the status legendary or we can settle, but if we fail, the unit will attack us and we lost the unit for ever (barbarian with loyalty to avoid a new change). This point is funny (for me), but unpredictable: If we have a seasoned unit, and he wins vs 10 units (same turn), he can change to barb and we can't do anything. Or, instead of battle, per turn, as slaves.
4) All the above points. Or some of them. Or any idea more.
I want use this feature, is very realistic, but ingame we don't need to use it.
And the reservist, I would change the +1
for +1
. If we use a reservist would be on conquest cities or border cities, to prevent an attack. And this cities need culture, not research.
