The Polish cardinal vote goes to France.
I shall play my turn tomorrow probably. It's my 18th birthday week so you never know what's behind the corner

Currently HRE, France and Poland has 2 votes. Historical Atze's vote will decide! Which will it be?

Can I, in this case, vote for myself? Or is this still not allowed?

I believe the cardinals could not vote for their own country they represented.

Normally it is not allowed - this much I know. But Eivind included me in his summary so I at least wanted to ask if in this special situation that rule is to be ignored.
PS: No-one cares what you believe anyway .

Sorry, my bad, I shouldn't have included HRE in the 'finals'. It's either France or Poland. I guess you could vote on either of the other civ's, but then we are back to the tie again, and then I guess I will have to make a new rule. So please, just make a choice between France or Poland.
The Emperor awaits the ambassadors of his fellow Christian brothers from the east and the west who are rumored to bring gifts in exchange for certain unknown benefits.

I already thought about that - and I honestly don't know. So let's see what Eivind says about this. There were a bunch of French Popes in the Middle Ages iirc .
Yes, I know how you meant "believe" - why is no one of you new English speaking, Finnish, Spanish, Argentinian guys ever in for a good joke or pun . Do you really think, I would want to say that no one cares what you believe? Oh man ...

My Pope will be hard, but fair. If you do not intend to be an enemy of the Church, then my Pope will not be an enemy to you.
Sorry, when I wrote that I was in a terrible mood. Puns, irony and sarcasm don't go down well when you're tired and generally pissed off And trust me, here in London people do actually say things as rude as that and actually mean them.

To counter what France says, a Polish Pope will not follow Polish interests, but only the furtherance of Christianity in the Holy Land and other pagan areas in Europe. Poland has no enemies of yet and thus a Polish Pope will not be a threat to anybody except the Saracens. France is an incredibly powerful nation who is in a position where the power of the Pope could be devastating to neighbours, like the Holy Roman Empire; Poland is not strong enough yet to use the Pope 'aggressively', if you will.
I therefore leave it you, the cardinal from the Holy Roman Empire, to ponder in the light of France and Poland's advice whether the next Pope should be French or indeed Polish.
