BONAPARTE III HOUSE RULES:

PRUSSIA & AUSTRIA AS VASSALS: If France captures Berlin or Vienna then the Prussian
or Austrian player must act as a vassal of France. France cannot capture any more
territory from that nation but it may send French troops through their territory.

It is up to the Vassal nation how much they co-operate with the French. They may
just allow access, they may join forces with the French.

Vassal status is terminated if the capital is liberated by a foreign power.
If The Vassal wishes they may wish to stick with the French. If not they will need
to negotiate with their liberator over getting back their capital.

I know this rule is a little long winded but it should eliminate wars of annihilation
to some extent. After all, after the first exile of Napoleon, France was allowed to
become a Kingdom, only for the monster to return!

SPAIN AS VASSAL: If Britain or France (or whoever else) captures Madrid then Spain
must become the vassal of that nation, much the same as the rule above.

GENERAL RULES:
*Black clicking is banned. Using this trick eliminates the element of surprise and a lot of the fun that that brings!
*Stack size checking is permitted. Although you may not know the composition of your enemy, you may know roughly how big it is.
*No building of new cities, only rebuilding razed ones.
*No pillaging of stackable terrain. Roads, mines and irrigation are fair game.
*Do not sell "Non-Combatants" and you have to rebuild non-combatants immediately after you conquered a city!
*No alliance between France and Britain.
*No sneak attacks. One turn peace after declaration of war.
*Trade embargo is allowed (Kontinentalsperre).
*You cannot build a new palace while you already have one.
*Fortresses can be exchanged between nations (exception to rule as they are immovable!)
*Spies can only investigate enemy cities, no bribing.
*No re-homing trade units.
*No technology trading.
*City swapping is permitted.
*All the other normal rules apply (IE no re-homing trade, ship chaining etc...)

UNIT BUILDING RULES:
The attacker is allowed to rebuild his losts plus 25% of the killed units (uprounded)-the defender is allowed to rebuilt 75% of his losts.
If anybody sends a caravan to a target, he is allowed to rebuilt a unit of his choice. If anybody wants to build a caravan without having one, he has to disband one of his units.

Out of curiosity: Why was the playing order changed in the newest version?

I converted the map and cities from my WWII Europa scenario using CivCity to save some time and effort. The nations therefore took the same order as that game (I think).

I tried to start the game as Britain but found that the Swedish units had moved. When I started as Sweden nobody was moved by the AI so I thought it would make sense to start off with the Swedes. Hopefully none of this will have a negative effect on the gameplay!

That is an error. Everyone with Guard Regiments feel free to amend the rules file!

Re: Catholic Churches
I have not changed that part of the rules file (afaik) so it must be the same as John Ellis' original. I cannot see a problem with Britain building Catholic Churches as there were, and still are, lots of Catholics in Britain and Ireland!

Peace in our time!



The Consul struck a historic peace agreement with the British Empire this month.

Despite mounting tensions on both sides of the channel earlier this year, the British Empire and the French Republic were able to sort out their differences, preventing a major war which would leave northern Europe a barren wasteland.

May peace among all nations of this world last forever.

However, the revolution cannot be sedated or put down before the injustice so rampant in still mostly feudal Europe has been purged.

The crass mistreatment of peasants and workers throughout the German duchies is especially troubling, and hence France has declared that she will liberate the oppressed and the downtrodden of said duchies.

France hereby claims the following cities, with very little room for negotiations:

Bremen
Cologne
Dortmund
Duesseldorf
Frankfurt am Main
Karlsruhe
Stuttgart
Zurich

In Italy, we have as of yet not come to an agreement with the Austrians, but the French object to any foreign presence in the western Italian cities, and it has been made clear that here too the peasants suffering under the yoke of the decadent merchants may need to be liberated.

The consul considers Africa free for anyone to take.

Off-topic:

1. Werd, I noticed that unlike almost all other special units, Bonaparte is not NONE, but homed to Paris. Is this a mistake and if so, may if fix it next turn?

2. You renamed British India but not the event obsoleting the Imperial Trade wonder. "The Empire" needs to be given its old name for the event to work.

Stuttgart is already on siege by Prussia and prussian troops stay in front of Frankfurt.
We accept the french claim to Frankfurt, but Stuttgart should be a part of Prussia.
