The long awaited Fangtien Korean campaign begins. The Japanese resist fanatically at Pyongyang (1 veteran Mortar lost and many damaged) but after the fall of that vital city the Fangtien forces make rapid progress down the peninsula. Keijo is captured and a Japanese General outside the city is captured. Moppo falls with the loss of one veteran Mortar. Taegu is only lightly defended allowing for an attack on Fusan which is captured without loss using the Russian Armoured Train and General. Unfortunately after operations to secure lines of communication are completed there is not enough artillery shells left to allow an attack on Heijo and Gensan is out of range at the moment. The Fangtien troops dig in and hope that the Japanese counter attack won't catch too many vulnerable units out in the open!
These Japanese dogs die hard. All I was able to achieve this month was to clear my lines of communication and withdraw my precious artillery and veteran units to my heartland for refitting. Finishing off the remaining two cities in Korea will not be easy!
It seems taking Wuchow has triggered a Warlord in Guanxi province, but, strangely enough, it has also triggered the Suiyuan province Warlord.
This has to be a mistake in the events. What to do? Should I let them be? They'll probably just disperse, as the Barbarian Civ does. I'd like to simply delete them, given that this is an error in the events file.
Heijo captured. The Japanese now only hold out in Gensan, but this city is inaccessible by rail-roads and protected by the range of mountains that runs down the Korean peninsula. The Japanese are continually shipping in reinforcements. A cease fire is agreed as both sides are worn out, but the fighting will begin again!
