    The Crusades (Game II)

Ok, we are ready to begin again, with a much improved game. The new scenario files are attached to this thread, you need to unzip the attachment and save the files over your existing Crusades directory. We are also welcoming 2 new players to the game, Jerec and Gelion.

    Civs:
    Byzantine Empire (Jerec)
    Turks (McMonkey)
    Arabs (Civilionaut)
    Holy Roman Empire (Gelion)
    Spanish (CupCoffee)
    French (Ingvar)
    Anglo-Normans (Alcibaides)

    House Rules:
-No founding of new cities, only re-establishing raized ones
-No bribing any units or cities, not even the barbarians
    -No re-homing trade units.
    -No technology trading

You may wage war with anyone you want, however it is strongly encouraged that the Christians team up against the Muslims and vice-versa.

The Byzantine Empire has neither the strength nor the intent to attack any but the barbarians in Eastern Europe.

In battle a French Crusaders is destroyed west of Edessa.
I am not sure that there should have been a French unit up by Edessa. Are we sure that we are playing with the right scenario file?

@Jerec: Did you download the attachment I posted? And use that .scn file?

@McMonkey: In your game save, if there is a Citadel in Damascus, and Beirut and Tripoli and in German hands, then I think it must be the correct file and we can play on.

Sh*t. I should have spotted that. I went to a friends wedding party last night and got a bit inebriated. Playing with a hangover is probably not a good idea. I think Jerec must have pasted in the files but then loaded the old scenario file which would still be in the folder as the new one has a different name and would not have been over written!

The new one has a different name? I did not know that, what was the original one called? The new one is called "theCrusades.scn", so that is the one to use. Sorry about that.

In my folder I have one .scn file called TheCrusades.scn and another one called TheCrusadesImproved.scn. Perhaps the improved one was already there.

Yes, the one entitled "CrusadesImproved.scn" was the one I posted before I incorporated any of your and CupCoffee's suggestions. That one can be deleted to avoid confusion.

In that case, the correct one to play is the one entitled simply "TheCrusades.scn".

It seems Jerec will need to replay the turn.

Done. I've replaced the save on my first post, and there's a new citadel unit in this scen so I'm sure it's the right one this time.

Sultan Kilij Arslan, leader of the Seljuk Turks, declares a Jihad against the Frankish barbarian Crusader state. All Muslim warriors are required to present themselves for service in the Sultans army until such time as the Infidels are driven from our lands.

I, Philip The First, called The Amorous, King of France, wov(?) to uphold the virtues of Christianity in all the lands under my rule.

This means France will stand by and assist their brothers of faith in their struggles with the Muslim hordes.
