Barthi´s 4.1
Barthi´s 4.1
Good, we'll go for v4.1, but be sure to replace the game.txt
McMonkey, you can start off the game when you like.
Before I start I just need to know:
- Will we play a hotseat game? (I prefer these!)
- What difficulty level?
Cupcoffee, can you post the play order at the top of post #1 please. This allows us to keep track of who's next by just hovering the mouse pointer over the thread title in the main forum.
Sure, start a hotseat and I assume General(king level) is the most common level for pbem, so go for that.
OK, thanks. I will try and play tonight if I get a chance but if not I will definitely start it tomorrow!
To clarify how this is done, since this is my first multiplayer game:
First I download the save the player before me posts.
I then play my turn, and of course save the game before ending my turn, and upload the save.
That is all?
Edit: And also, since the rules say nothing of this, I assume that stealing technologies is allowed?
That's pretty much it.
The diplomat units in the game are soley created via events (and very rarely so), so I see no reason to put any particularly restrictions on how you use them.
Correct on how to play. I guess it is OK to steal techs if the rules don't forbid it.
Will play my turn now
Edit: Nevermind, I found out.
The Czar wishes it to be known that Imperial Russia wants only peace with its neighbours. Foreign traders are welcome at the ports of St.Petersberg, Riga, Odessa, Sevastopol and Vladivostock. For travel into the Russian interior a permit will need to be granted (send me a PM).

Japan approves U.S.A. only for trade, all others must first prove.

France wishes for peaceful relations with it´s neighbors,
however we will respond to any threat to our sovereignty with force.
France welcomes trade with our good neighbors the English, and our friends in America.
That is all.
Germany doesn´t want to threaten our good neighbours the French. We only have to protect our very important coal field near Strasbourg.
We invite every nation to negotiate for trade agreements
Wenn du tot bist, dann weißt du nicht, dass du tot bist, es ist nur schwer für die anderen. Genau so ist es, wenn du blöd bist.
The mines south (135,51) of Strasbourg have been under French control since before I took control of the Empire.
And so they shall remain.
I have made no claim to the area north east (135,49) of the city.
Adieu.
Exerpts from a speech to the US congress by the President of the United States of America:
"...And as representatives of the land of the brave and the free, we are bound to keep open all our port cities to both immigrants and trade from across the barriers of the vast seas, from across the barriers of differing cultures and languages, fostering the freedom of movement for people, goods and capital in the very same spirit this great nation was founded on.
We must also keep our arms wide and welcoming to the governments in Europe and Asia and show the proper respect and courtesy, but we must insist with equal firmness to return that respect by observing the Monroe doctrin and not meddle or interfere with the soverignty of any independent nation of the Americas.
The fact of the matter is that this nation is obligated not only to protect the people of this continent, we are obligated to help and improve the livelyhood not only of our own citizens but of our continetal brothers as well.
I need not tell you gentlemen of the latest testament of mankinds great potential and ingenuity with the recently opened Suez canal.
I have therefore the intent to make official policy to contact the Colombian government and negotiate the construction of our very own Suez on the isthmus of Panama.
Though costly, such a project would be a boon not only for the region but for the flow of international commerce..."
Short version: All port cities are open for trade, the independent cities of America are considered part of the US sphere of influence and we will be opening the Panama canal shortly for all merchant shipping.
