Hi Kael,
First of all: Fall from Heaven II is an absolute fantastic mod. You and your team did a fantastic job.
Now straight to the point: Me and Kontrollator (from civforum.de) are currently working on a german translation of your mod that uses correct (german) grammar. That means implementing grammatical cases for all units, techs and so on. For example:
TXT_KEY_UNIT_RAVENOUS_WEREWOLF
<German><Text>Lechzender Werwolf:Lechzenden Werwolfs:Lechzenden Werwolf:Lechzenden Werwolf:Lechzende Werwölfe:Lechzenden Werwölfe:Lechzenden Werwölfen:Lechzenden Werwölfe</Text><Gender>male:male:male:male:male:male:male:male</Gender><Plural>0:0:0:0:1:1:1:1</Plural></German>
One corresponding event message looks like this in CIV4GameText_FFH2.xml:
TXT_KEY_UNIT_CONVERT_FROM_COMBAT
<German>[ICON_BULLET]%D1% Chance, dass sich die Einheit in [NUM2:einen:eine:ein:mehrere:mehrere:mehrere] %s2:4_unit verwandelt, wenn die Einheit im Kampf erfolgreich ist</German>
So that the fourth case of the unit's name and the first word from the NUM bracket is chosen. This should look like this in the game:
100% Chance, dass sich die Einheit in einen Lechzenden Werwolf verwandelt, wenn die Einheit im Kampf erfolgreich ist
Unfortunately we don't get it to work. Ingame it looks like this:
100% Chance, dass sich die Einheit in ein Lechzender Werwolf verwandelt, wenn die Einheit im Kampf erfolgreich ist
So this is the description of the problem. The question is: Is there a way to fix this? Do we have to insert a grammar schema somewhere in the xml-files? Or is it something that only you mod developers can fix?
Thanks for reading and for your help in advance.
Best regards,
The Doc
PS: ColdFever (from civilized.de) who kindly tried to help us has brought another point to our attention. The xml-files of the mod don't have the right encoding for Civ4. He says that they should be encoded in ISO-8859-1 which they apparently aren't. I don't know if this is related to our problem or if it is just a formal problem. I just wanted to let you know.
Thanks for reading even further.
